Magic is our unconscious desire to alter our existing reality and expand beyond our current state to become a much grander expression of who we really are. Magic helps us believe that anything is possible - even the things that seem impossible or make no sense. Love can feel like that sometimes - impossible to explain & bigger than we every imagined possible.

This is how I feel about 'Retreats' - it is a place I find an immense amount of love, connected in sacred community, holding space for possibility and unveiling our true magic. It is also where I feel most magical to teach... to share, to dream and to inspire!

I would love to snuggle, laugh, cry, draw oracle cards, tassle, pet furry cows (unfortunately don't have white ponies!) and walk in the woods together.

Enjoy the light-filled yoga studio or, practice outdoors on our 1700 square foot deck. The kitchen at Bloom follows a farm-to-table food philosophy that makes every meal at the communal table truly memorable. A firepit and outdoor pizza oven add to the charm of outdoor evenings.

BLOOMS PACKING LIST

  • workout/yoga clothes for daily movement

  • cozy, comfortable clothes for restorative practice

  • light sweater (sometimes it can feel a bit cool in the morning practice so it's nice to have a light sweater or shawl for meditation)

  • ​comfortable everyday clothing & pj's

  • yoga mat (only if you prefer your own a the studio is well stocked with mats and other props)

  • meditation shawl, eye pillow, and any other personal practice items

  • water bottle (glass bottles and open vessels are not permitted in the studio)

  • seasonal clothing for outdoor activities

  • walking/hiking shoes 

  • sunscreen, sunglasses and hat

  • bug repellant 

  • personal toiletries (Ensuite bathrooms are stocked with soap, shampoo and conditioner)

  • personal medications

  • ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones, if you are a light sleeper

  • house slippers (Bloom is a shoe-free venue!)

  • journal and pen

  • travel alarm clock

  • small flashlight

  • your favourite essential oils or oil blends - lavender is powerful for calming, peppermint is great for clarity, and citrus scents are amazing for uplifting your mood a defined quiet, sacred space to enjoy this time you're giving yourself

  • a book you are reading (consider bringing the real thing as we are encouraging everyone to stay off devices/electronics as much as possible)

  • any special travel snacks

  • any personal creative/art supplies you love to travel with!

  • a nice outfit for your soul portrait & group photo

UNPLUG

Quiet the Noise

During the retreat you will be invited to practice daily silence (don't worry there will be plenty of time to chat!) and unplug from the outside world.  I cannot tell you how nourishing and life changing this practice can be.


I invite you all to set your 'Unplug' Intention before the retreat begins. If you live with others (spouse, kids, etc.), ensure you have a conversation before you leave for your retreat with them about why this retreat is important for you and that you are planning on disconnecting for the week.  Creating clear conversations with our loved ones helps integrate our experience and supports our expectations.


In order for us to completely have the opportunity to nourish our mind/body and tune into our magical intuitive self we must first provide the space and then allow for to fully 'unplug' and get quiet. Practicing silence allows us to get grounded, when too many things around us are moving constantly. This is not always an easy practice but it is one that I promise you will allow your to understand how we numb ourselves with the daily noise/distraction that keeps us busy and away from our most true magical self. When we allow to get quiet and nourish our mind/body the creative being arrives and we tune into the present moment.


Loud noises over 30 decibels increase high anxiety, stress and blood pressure. Silence lowers blood pressure and allows us to deal with life’s challenges in a better way and helps boost our immune system lowering blood cortisol and adrenaline levels. Silence recharges our mind and allows us to get out of our survival and reactive mode of living and thinking. While sleep reboots the mind, silence recharges it and helps to calm the emotions down, detaching from the situation and make more informed decisions. When we allow the opportunity daily to disable our speech and our daily distractions to have an we begin to get a glimpse of our magic, heart centre listening and unveil our deepest dreams and ambitions - it's like revealing the sun behind the clouds. Calming our mind removes the thoughts (clouds), and the spirit; our Higher Self can then shine through.

 

GETTING HERE

Bloom on Loughborough Lake is located in Eastern Ontario. Our lakeside location is at 1425 Rutledge Road, South Frontenac, ON. 

 BY CAR

Bloom is a 25-minute drive from Kingston, less than 2 hours from Ottawa, and roughly 3 hours from both Toronto and Montreal. Map the location and get driving directions here. When you arrive at 1425 Rutledge Road, you will see a limestone house at the front of the property—please pass the house and continue along the private laneway for 2 kms until you arrive at Loughborough Lake. Expect to pass ponds, marshlands and forest enroute.

BY AIR

International guests may fly into Ottawa’s Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW), Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), or Montréal’s Trudeau International Airport (YUL). Ottawa is our closest international airport. Kingston Airport (YGK) has daily scheduled service to YYZ.
