PINK
NEW MOON

The Pink New Moon is named for the first wild flowers that bloom after winter — not because of colour, but because of timing.  It marks a soft turning — when the earth opens, life stirs below, and we commit to tending what is becoming.

Themes Include:

  • Seed Intentions (Inner World)

  • Daily Devotion (Daily Tending)

  • Protection (Sacred Boundaries)

  • Bloom Vision (Awakened Feeling)

This is a moon of devotion, patience, and gentle courage — the perfect container for art journaling and intention setting.

"If art is the literacy of the heart, then this sweet soul speaks many languages. From her tangible, tactile creations to the images arrested by her lens, to her exploratory way of connecting people, this woman radiates colour."

MARINA DEMPSTER

I was born in Mexico City to a French mother and a British father, raised within an artful convergence of cultures, textures, and languages. With family always far flung, an early inborn sense of belonging across borders taught me to be open, adapt, listen deeply, and seek connection in unexpected places.

I work with archetypes as living patterns rather than fixed symbols. They offer a lens for exploring the shared terrain of being human—identity, vulnerability, resilience—and our own stories mirrored in one another.

Loop by loop, stitch by stitch, bead by bead, my work holds contradiction alongside integration. I am drawn to polarities and to the charged space between them—the interstitial where questions stay open and levity meets gravity.

My work has been exhibited internationally in more than a dozen public art museums and was named Curator’s Choice at the Canadian Pavilion of the Cheongju International Biennale, recognizing excellence in contemporary Canadian craft.

Collaboration is central to my practice. With my longtime friend Christina Gapic, I also co-create BELOVE Unlimited—one-of-a-kind, small-batch sewn garments and functional accessories that bring beauty and intention into the rituals of daily life.

NIKKI & MARINA

Creating with Marina is one of the greatest gifts of my creative life.

She has a rare ability to see what is trying to be born — and to hold space for it with patience, courage, and play. Marina has deeply shaped my artistry and my relationship with the creative process. Through our collaborations, she has taught me how to trust the unseen, to surrender control, and to let creativity become an act of devotion and alchemy. She doesn’t just make art — she midwifes vision, turning whispers into form with reverence and care.

Some of my most meaningful creations have been born beside her — stitched, beaded, dreamed, and discovered through a shared “yes, and…” that feels both sacred and wildly alive. Creating with Marina is an invitation into courage, joy, and deep listening, and I am endlessly grateful for her presence in my life and work.

To create with her is to remember that art is not something we make alone — it is something we are brave enough to make together.

We worked on a project together for PIANO PIANO - this is one of the most incredible creative experiences of my life.
